Other things to consider when picking a toddler Halloween costume: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends having something bright and reflective on the costume, so people will see children as they walk down the street. (If there's nothing bright on the costume, consider putting reflective tape on the treat bags.) It's also important to look for costumes, wigs and accessories that are flame-resistant. And to make sure that the costume accessories — swords, canes, etc. — aren't sharp.
